Oct. 6, 2007 - Vice President Judythe Coffman, will be at the Bark
in the Park pet day sponsored by Lancaster Parks Dept. and various
clubs in the Antelope Valley. Hi Desert Australian Shepherd Club is hosting
an all breed practice match along with the other events of the day.
Judy will be distributing educational materials and soliciting memberships.
Sept. 16, 2007 - President Susan Sholar and Silver Bay KC will
co-host a fun-filled Responsible Dog Ownership Day at the California School
of Dog Grooming. CGC, nutrition and grooming seminars, do-it-yourself dog
wash, fun contests. Proceeds will benefit CFODC. Sept. 16, 2007 - Vice-President, Judythe Coffman, will have a
table for legislative educational materials at the Tri Valley Working Dog
match, for working breeds only, on Sept. 16, 2007. The match will also
include a CGC (open to all breeds), Jr. Handling class and competition, and
obedience. Site is Manzanita Heights Park, on the corner of Mesa Verde Ave
and 5th St. West in Palmdale. Sept. 15, 2007 -

Responsible Dog Ownership Day, Yokuts Park 10:00am to 4:00pm Sept. 15, 2007 - The inaugural “Paws
in the Park: Fun Day for Pets and their People,” will be held Sat. Sept. 15
at Balboa Park, Encino, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to
bring a picnic lunch for themselves and their pets. Admission is free.
Presented by the Southern California Responsible Pet Owners Coalition whose
members include: the Belgian Tervuren Club of Southern California/BTCSC,
California Federation of Dog Clubs/CfoDC, Cat Fanciers’ Association/CFA,
Golden Retriever Club of Greater LA/GRCGLA, Jack Bradshaw Dog Show
Superintendents, Jump City Agility, Los Angeles Daily News, PetPAC, Royal
Canin Pet Foods, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of Southern California/SCWTCSC,
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America/SBTCA, Warner Center Pet Clinic,
West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club/WLAOTC. “Paws in the Park” is all
about Responsible Pet Ownership, and will feature multiple demonstrations of
things that people can do with a well-trained pet. Performances include dog
agility, obedience, rally, and canine freestyle (dancing), as well as
working dog demonstrations by “Wilshire” the Los Angeles Fire Department
dog, law enforcement dogs, and carting dogs. 〓〓Owners will have an
opportunity to train and try agility, obedience and rally. 〓〓Laddie, the 9th
generation of the Weatherwax Lassie dogs, and owner/trainer Bob Weatherwax
will judge the contests and award prizes for pet/owner look alike, longest
ears, “waggiest” tail, and “stupid” pet tricks.
Microchipping by Warner Center Pet Clinic will be available on site for cats
and dogs.〓Cat lovers will find a breeds showcase, as well as information
about the Assistance Program, nutrition and grooming.〓〓Pet owners can
observe demonstrations and collect tips and information about choosing the
right pet for their family, training, grooming, kids and dogs together,
holistic pet care, pet disaster preparedness, and animal welfare vs. animal
rights.〓〓In addition, a large raffle will feature baskets brimming with pet
goodies, some for dogs and some for cats.〓〓Pet photographers will be on hand
to preserve the memories, and there will be a voter registration table, as
well as pet food samples, toys, supplies and tools.〓〓The Southern California
Responsible Pet Owners Coalition is composed of dog breed clubs, kennel
clubs, the Cat Fanciers Association, and individual pet owners. Come and
join in the fun!
Aug. 31, 2007 - Vice President, Judythe Coffman, will have a table
with educational legislative materials at the 4-H Dog Show at the Antelope
Valley Fair, Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 starting at 5 PM in the Jaqua Arena. |
